Khaiphoda festival in Odisha's Puri District |

Like many other places, the Bhimapur village in Orissa's Puri district also celebrates the festival of Khai Phoda on the day of Maha Vishuba Sankranti. Devotees visit the place to pin their body with iron pins and the hang on a piece of timber. Believed that the children who are picked by the pinned people on hanger, kids and children are often handed to them even though the children get panicked. But they are still put at risk for the sake of the belief that people have. |
