Story of the Dhokra Village

The villagers of Navjeevanpur (near Dhenkanal in Orissa), known as 'Ghantara', have been working day in and day out since many generations and have kept a tradition alive, but are still struggling for a minimum living. They take all pains to make Dhokra but the benefits are enjoyed by the middlemen and local money lenders who supply the raw materials to the village artisans and give them some advance money.
