World Bank President reviewed the Costal Zone management Programme implemented in Odisha, expressed satisfaction over the performance

On the eve of the BRICS summit, World Bank (WB) president Robert B. Zoellick appreciated such an initiative and said, 'by creating funds of its own, BRICS can take a role in development of the member countries and other developing countries as well'.

On its monetary support to India, Zoellick said that there is a limit for all countries and India is getting substantial support if the funds given by World Bank and its affiliates are taken into account.

About the WB funded Integrated Coastal Zone Management Project implemented in Odisha, Zoellick said that, apart from achieving its goals, the project would help the WB members learn various things and apply in other areas in India like the west coasts and, also, in foreign countries.

About the association of World Bank with Odisha, Zoellick said it has been a long and satisfactory association since last many decades.

The recent visit of the World Bank president bears lots of hopes regarding projects for poverty reduction and alround development in India.
